Tales of The Traveling Tote and Giveaway

Tales of The Traveling Tote

Welcome to another adventure of the Tales of the Traveling Tote. This is where my fellow Traveling Tote friends and I share our latest travels, projects and our most current events. You will have an opportunity to visit other members at the end of this post and learn about our giveaway.

Giving thanks to all the millitary personnel who died while serving out great nation!

Hello dear friends and welcome to another Tales of The Traveling Tote. I hope you enjoyed your long holiday weekend and are looking forward to welcoming summer. It has been a beautiful spring here and we've been taking advantage of the cool breezy days to begin the task of planting new shrubbery and adding flowers to the beds.

I ask Jim to add my Mrs. Powers dinner and door bell next to the door

We took a break from our work to enjoy the long holiday weekend. Grilling and sitting on the porch is a real treat from all the work last year of listing and selling our home and then moving. I enjoyed setting a table for two for dining al fresco. I did remember to take a photo of our patriotic dessert.

In April we traveled to Atlanta to spend Easter with my sister and brother-in-law. Spring is incredibly beautiful in Atlanta with blooming flowers with such vibrant colors. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood with trees bursting forth with new lush green growth.

The azaleas were blooming

I always enjoy visiting a few of our favorite shops with my sister while we are there

Boxwoods nursery and gifts

I loved seeing this beautiful and inspirational symbol of spring and Easter, a Living Cross

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church   Easter Cross of Flowers

Church members bring greenery, flowers and branches to help decorate the Easter Cross of Flowers

We didn't do a lot of traveling this spring but I am packing now for our first vacation of summer. Here's a hint of a very happy place I love to spend time!

TALES OF THE TRAVELING TOTES AND A GIVEAWAY

 MacKenzie-Childs Traveling Totes
great for any trip but I love these for the beach

Courtyard Tote
My Christmas gift from my son, daughter-in-law and grandson
Perfect for spring

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, AL and Atlanta
 latest destinations for my totes

AL has miles of beautiful beaches
I grew up vacationing here with my family

Atlanta, Ga also is a favorite destination

Jim helped me unpack a few "finds"
from the after Christmas sales in Atlanta

Home away from home for the week at Orange Beach where my sister and brother-in-law joined us for a few days

It was beautiful weather for walking on the sugar white sand, just stay off the dunes and sea oats! The city of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores have really cracked down on spring breakers, no drinking on the beach and leaving only "Footprints" behind

First trip here for Miss Courtney Childs
perfect for all those beach necessities

The sunsets were glorious

Delicious Seafood

Jim loves his flounder fried, mine was perfectly broiled

 bread pudding with bourbon sauce

it is also lovely bayside

Miss Scarlet is a perfect everyday tote

We spent one day in Fairhope, AL

Where Mardi Gras was in full swing all along the gulf coast

A few favorite shops for antiquing

When in Fairhope we enjoy bayside views at this  favorite hotel

Lovely hotel in an old south setting

Later in the week I met friends at The Grand Hotel  for lunch. Jenna at The Painted Apron and Leslie Anne at Southern with a Gulf Coast Accent, it was the one day it rained on my vacation but didn't dampen our fun!

And back home,  in the Mardi Gras tradition a king cake to celebrate a Mardi Gras beach vacation

Remember those interesting packages Jim was unpacking from my car, my fabulous sale finds in Atlanta! A Juliska Flint cream and sugar to add to my Juliska pieces

And,  a gorgeous MacKenzie Childs Christmas pillow,  a jeweled reindeer on front and the Courtly Check pattern on back.

Going to the beach was a great get away with family, always special and Atlanta is always fun, it's where my sister lives!
