Summer of 2026 Adventures

Atlanta

We have been enjoying this very hot summer with stateside fun with more adventurous travels planned in the fall. First up is our trip to Atlanta when we visited my sister and brother in law. Always fun and interesting places to explore and visit.

Decatur, GA is interesting and fun to explore and steeped in history!

Courthouse in Decatur, Ga

I always enjoy going to one of the many local farmer's markets. So many beautiful options for local vegetables and great international foods and gifts.

Miss Courtney loves this shopping!

Back in Atlanta for dinner

Pricci

A great dinner when you are craving Italian

July Fourth

We enjoy spending the Fourth with my sister and brother in law. You can depend on traditional Fourth fare, ribs and all the sides plus getting to spend time with my sister's sweet friends

And, a visit with sweet Lulu and she's already ready for pumpkin season!

I love her pumpkin color eyes!
~~~~~
Another long weekend getaway, to the beach. We can never get enough of the beach, except when it's so hot. So a few days will do ya!
For us, hot days at the beach are enjoyed sitting on a balcony sipping something cool and enjoying the view. Spring trips are for actually sitting on the beach under an umbrella when the cool breeze is all you need to make a day of it
The next best thing to enjoy is fresh gulf coast seafood. Of course nothing better to begin the evening than a little something for sipping.
Gulf coast sunsets are amazing!
~~~~~

Labor Day

We were home for Labor Day so I set a table outside in the garden for a festive table for two.

  8. It's always fun to "travel along" with you from my chair!! I haven't been to Decatur so it was nice to see highlights of your trip! As for the beach, early mornings or after dinner is when i enjoy the beach the most - no more sunbathing for me! Happy fall!

  11. Emily, I enjoyed seeing snapshots of your summer excursions. Yes, cooler temps are still not hitting Austin, and the entire country has suffered this summer. Your family beach trips always remind me of my youth, growing up on the Gulf Coast. Happy Autumn, sweet friend!

  12. Emily, we just love Atlanta. My husband served his mission there as a 19 year old. He said he wanted to go foreign and was a little disappointed, and then when he went to the South, he said he felt like he got a foreign language and foreign food! haha!!! He loved it. We got to go back for a work trip.
    The ocean is always a wonderful place. I could sit and watch the waves forever. Sounds like you had a beautiful summer.

  13. How wonderful to spend time with your sister and take in some history and shopping at the Farmer’s Market. Then you had beach time which I know is your favorite. Your Labor Day table looked so pretty in your courtyard. Here’s to hoping for some cooler temperatures and a beautiful Autumn! ❤️
