FAVORITE CHAIRS

We have several books on antique furniture and how furniture was constructed in the 18th century. We take our chairs very seriously here, looking for period pieces. While furnishing our home we decided to buy eighteenth century reproductions. We really love the look and quality of Southwood Reproductions. I pulled a few books to share photographs of how construction begins. Our chairs are comfortable, well made and have served us well for over thirty years. I see a little fading of the fabric, but only because we get so much sunlight in our home.

 Made in USA, Hickory, NC.

Upstairs Landing
This was my Mom's little French chair. She used it in her living room and later in the bedroom. This is my most treasured chair! I love how two fabrics are used, the floral on the front and seat and a stripe on the sides and back.

Back to the family room, Connor makes good use of Papa's leather recliner.
I'm not a fan of recliners but this was not my call!

My favorite chair in the house, my leather wing back.  I love curling up with my favorite books or a good movie and a cafe au lait. Notice my little pillow, it's a subtle reminder for Jim we are in need of a trip!
