I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Well not exactly! I guess I've always had the "White Christmas" dream since I was a child. Living in the south there is very little chance of getting snow for Christmas. So, I decided to create my own little woodland tree covered with snow. I found a tabletop flocked tree and the moment I saw it I knew it was coming home with me. My white Christmas dream was going in the dining room! I usually display my choirs on the sideboard but decided the tree would work beautifully for this space. I moved the choirs to the living room. I'll share that vignette in another post.
I'm using white for decorations with the exception of a pop of color in the little birds. The tree was the perfect size to sit down in a cut glass punch bowl for a whole lot of sparkle. I love sparkle! I've collected a few white animal ornaments and this was the look I was going for.

These boxes contain and store my victorian ornaments and I use them throughout the house for decorating so they do double duty.

If you are still here thank you for your visit. I would love to hear from you so please leave a comment. That's the only way I know you came by! Do come again and see how I use my victorian ornaments.

  1. Love that gorgeous tree, Emily, especially with the room lights dim. Gorgeous photo. Love all your pretty whites...and, of course, the music too. I am still hoping for a better music player since mine loads so slowly. I tried yours below but I can't seem to be able to register. I'll keep at it.
We have not moved yet, but we're getting there. Whew...quite a different Christmas this year. ;)
Always a pleasure visiting with you.
    XOXO's,
    Marcia

  14. Emily, Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Your white tree is perfectly decorated and what a fabulous thing to use a crystal bowl for the stand. It all reminds of a Christmas eve when I was seven and it snowed. I stood outside and caught snowflakes on my tongue. What an unusual Christmas eve in Georgia.
Wishing you and your family the best Christmas ever, and if it stays this cold, who knows, we might have a white Christmas. Wouldn't that be a thrill?
    Hugs,
    Babs
Oh... love your music selection, too.

  15. Merry Christmas, Emily! Your version of a White Christmas is just lovely.
We will have a green Christmas here, but that is pretty much the norm. Instead of walking in the snow we'll walk by the ocean and count our blessings. All the best to you in 2013!
