IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LITTLE LIKE CHRISTMAS

Last weekend was so cold and wet! The grey weather was perfect for staying inside and provided my last bit of inspiration I needed to finish up my Christmas decorating. I saved my favorite for last, decorating the little flocked tree I purchased last year to sit atop the dining room buffet. I wanted to add more silver and white this year and found it’s easy to do with all the owls and birds that seem to be in all the shops. I love looking for just the right size and color ornaments, and I seem to be bringing home a lot of feathers too. My son, daughter-in-law and grandson seem to know just what I like, finding the perfect ornaments with a French flair, perfect for my little tree.

I love this purple peacock, makes for a pop of unexpected color.

Beneath the tree,  a fur lined sleigh for bringing home the tree.

Pulled by these handsome reindeer

Of course we still have the big tree in the study you see every year and the traditional red velvet bow and fir wreath on the door, outside. But, I’ve made a few changes inside.  I have a forrest of trees (candles from my sweet sister) being held by a group of cute little elves nestled in flocked pine garland. For years I’ve always had my smoker collection here. It’s different but I like this too. Where will I put the smokers?
I appreciate your visit and hope you will leave a comment, it’s the only way I know you stopped by.

  24. Wintry magic. I love every detail, Emily.
I've brought out my decorations so slowly this year. We were supposed to have moved into our permanent home by now, but it looks like transitional house season is extending.
I have a couple of table top trees and our floor tree. I have always preferred a table top, and this year I kept it very simple with burlap and starfish for our coastal decorated Florida home.
Enjoy all the little details that make the season so delicious, my friend.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.
    xoxo's
