A Spring Nest for the Table

Today is the first day of spring and I wanted to bring a little of the spring season inside. Using what I already have on hand and pulling a few things from the beds, I decided to make a nest vignette for the kitchen. Using a large clear glass platter as an anchor, I then added the grapevine wreath on top. Using vines and ground cover, I then weave vines through the grapevine.  I fill the center with whatever leftover plants I have from Christmas. Maidenhair fern, frosty fern, ground cover and shamrock plants from St. Patrick's Day. For a pop of color I add the last of the blooming Tete a Tete daffs .

A welcome nest

Perfect for the table in the breakfast area of the kitchen

Oh look, do you see what I see?

I do believe I see a nest in the nest!

 A bunny family

All snug among the ferns

I love the gnarly twisted vines of the wreath. This is one of several that decorated the church doors when our son married his sweetheart.  My husband and I made these with the help of my husband's mom and dad using vines from their gardens.

After years of use they look like the day we made them!

Pretty tulips for the hutch (artificial) and later in the week fresh tulips for Easter for the blue and white container on the island

Tulips will fill this container for Easter

Thanks for dropping in. I appreciate your visit and would love for you to leave a comment, I read each and everyone!

If you are here, know how "Egg-stra Special" you are to me!
Happy Spring

  20. Hi Nancy, Thanks for your visit. The paint I used Is Benjamin Moore "Black" on the hutch and island (a link to before and after if your interested and if you are serious I will pull my files and find the paint number so there is no mistake. It is not a jet black, has some charcoal in it which is a great color.

  21. Hello Emily Ann! :) I love the bunny family tucked into your pretty Spring basket! The basket/wreath is eggs-tra special since it came from your son's wedding!
