REMODELED OPEN HOUSE ON THE BEACH

Elegant Coastal Living

All of you know how I love vacationing at the beaches of South Walton in FL, along beautiful scenic highway 30A. Recently while on a trip there I wanted to visit this open house at Alys Beach. I asked my husband if he wanted to come along, hesitating and looking a little worried he decided he would better. It was definitely worth the time. Take a break and come along with me while we look at this elegant beach home. Great furnishings and beautiful materials used throughout.

Alys Beach

Front Entrance

The front entrance looks over the sand dunes (although probably not for long, this development is growing fast.)

Entering on the first of three floors

One of four bedrooms with bath

Barn door and crystal chandelier

Private pool and courtyard

Up to the main floor
Living Room, Kitchen, Dining and Master bedroom and bath
Soft neutral colors of white, cream and grey

I love the slipcovered pieces, so perfect for a beach house

Stunning Kitchen

Floors are a mix of tile and whitewashed hardwood

I love the glass front refrigerator

Spectacular view

Bedroom

Adjoining  bath

Three floors of stairs (no elevator)
For this house I wouldn't complain!

Another bedroom

Another bath

I hope you enjoyed seeing the beach house with me. I always enjoy going to open houses, especially at the beach. The designer's eye to detail is always great to see and I always come away with inspiration. I am so happy I saw the listing, now I know how much I like whitewashed wood floors! If you are interested in seeing more of this home or details go here for the link.
So, do tell, what if anything did you like about this beach house? There wasn't anything I didn't like! Thanks for taking time to visit, I appreciate your time. I hope you will leave a comment so I  know you stopped in.

  1. I enjoyed my tour of the beach house through your pictures, Emily. What a stunning home it is, with the gorgeous chandeliers, and so many special, thoughtful touches. I thought the bathrooms were especially pretty, and I loved the private courtyard and small pool. That glass fronted refrigerator would force me to keep my fridge tidy!!! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  3. This was a treat! I gathered some great ideas here today for our home.
What a glorious home this is. You know I wanted whitewashed floors in our master, but the hubby was not onboard. I love them too-maybe if we ever get the itch to move an build again I will just do it! I must go back and look again at the rich details. Of course the location doesn't hurt anything!
Great to see you at TOHOT too, have a super weekend!

  4. This is DEFINITELY elegant coastal living -- not laid-back cottage life at my lake! But oh, so beautiful and restful. It looks divinely cool which is what a spot in Florida should feel like to balance the heat! Thanks for the tour!

  6. Dreamy Emily, but I would have to have more color! I loved the blue green abstract painting in one of the bedrooms. The furnishings were such an interesting eclectic mix, and although the chairs in the living areas look comfortable, they look too big for the space? Or maybe it's just the angle...I do love those white washed floors! LOVE house tours, thank you!

  7. Spectacular view! ..wow, such a gorgeous spot Emily. My husband knows this area well. I've been to the FL Keys and Sanibel Island. We had such a wonderful time and I'd like to go back. xoL

  8. We can all dream, can't we? The views are spectacular. I pinned your photo of the pot covered in shells and plaster (?) -- I would love to try something like that.

  9. Emily, I love house tours and open houses too. The deck off of the bedroom is one of my favorite parts of this house. I hope the view is not blocked! I'm always intrigued by the glass front fridges but I know I couldn't live with one! It would just be one more thing on my "to do list" ... "organize the fridge"...! I also like the window seat and corner windows in the dining area. Yes, I could vacation quite happily here! Linda

  10. I'm a Thirty-A girl, too. We're in the process of planning a trip (my surgery threw a wrench in our Memorial Day plans).

LOVE this home! It is stunning. I enjoyed the tour so much, and I loved the little play pool in the courtyard!

  11. Emily, a beach house is not in our future, but we seriously considered it years ago. I would love to wake up to that view from the master. I also like the idea of the garden seat in the shower. Great idea! Thanks for taking us along on the open house. I like to go to an open house to get ideas.

  13. Wow, that's a beauty. Lots of really nice appointments in the home, not to mention the view. It should sell quickly! Thanks for the tour.

It must have been fun to see this beautiful home in person.

  18. I absolutely love going to open houses so I'm thrilled you shared the tour with us. What I loved about the house was the beautiful stone that was used throughout. As to the decorating, I think there was too much furniture in the living room that made it feel a little cramped. Less is more when it comes to trying to sell a home, I think. :)
